Last 2011 Christmas Card

Now here's a card I never did post!!  I just found it in my draft posts.  LOL!!  Well, I might as well share it anyway.  I was hoping to have taken a better picture of it but I had given it away.  Darn it!  OH yes I remember now.  This is when my camera lens broke.  Happy to say that I have received my new lens and wow speedy service from Amazon.ca.  I am addicted to that website now.  LOL!!

I used a lot of glitter on the snow and furry hat but but I see it's a bit hard to see.  Might look better if you click on the picutre but the way Blogger is set up these days it's hard to enlarge a photo.  Anyway, you get the idea!!  Have a great week!  Hugs!

Warm Winter Wishes

Isn't this just the freakin' cutest?!!  As soon as I saw it, it was a MUST HAVE.  A new image from Sugar Nellie called Warm Winter Wishes.

I'm entering this into The Sugar Bowl Challenge, which is the sketch below with the option of doing something unusual.  So my unusual is trying to color these cuties to make them look like they have fur.  I think I did better on her then on him but I still think it's cute.

(Click on picture for better view of hair and glitter)

Great sketch!!

I would also like to enter my card  into Simon Says - Anything Goes!!

Sorry for the short post but I'm off to make my mom's card and I need all kinds of time for that one cuz it HAS to be special!!  hee hee

Enjoy your week!  Hugs!

Coffee Card Tutorial

Welcome to my FIRST tutorial!!  I didn't see this idea anywhere but actually just made it up myself.  WOOHOO there's a first!!  LOL!  It's fairly simple to make and an inexpensive way to send a small giftie.  You could also use the juice packs from the grocery store for people who don't drink coffee.

I make my cards 6" x 6" so if you make yours a little smaller adjust accordingly.  In this case I also distressed everything but that's optional.

First piece is 6" x 12".  I scored at 5 7/8" and then at 6 1/8" giving you a 1/4" spine on your card.  This could be made wider if you like because it will stand anyway.

Then you'll need 2 - layering pieces that are 5 3/4" x 5 7/8" and this is layering by 1/8".  I know some of you like 1/2" but once again you can adjust to the way you like it.

This is my sister's card on the inside, which you can see HERE and you'll notice later that they will change to a different background.  I had already taken a step too far when I realized I needed this picture.  LOL!!

I made this piece to go across the right hand panel but it's optional.  If you choose to do this it's 2" x 5 7/8".

Next you'll need a piece of paper that measures 2" x 5".  Take that piece and score it at 1/4" then at 1/2" and do the same at the other end like this:

Now you can finish decorating this piece how you like. I added some patterned paper and a piece of ribbon and at the end you'll also see I added some snowflakes.

Now adhere your double-sided tape to the first 1/4" at both ends.

Next attach your piece from above so you get this.  I then added 2 fabric roses because you won't hit them when you close the card.

After you've completed this piece don't adhere it quite yet.  Now you can tackle the front of the card because it's easier to lay it flat to finish the front.

Next adhere your coffee holder to the inside of the card.  Now this is where you'll notice the inside of my card changed from what my sister had to what I was working on.  I chose to emboss mine.

Next I've taken just a teeny piece of a glue dot and put it on the center of the pack of singles coffee from Starbucks then stuck it.  It's easy enough for the recipient to make a little tug and it will come out.  An optional idea is HERE where I tied on some nice Baker's Christmas twine to each packette.

And VOILA your finished product!!!  If you make one of these I would LOVE to see it!!

I hope I've worded this correctly enough for you to figure it out.  If not, that's why I added a ton of pictures.  LOL!

Check out Simone's coffee card too for some more ideas.

HAVE FUN!!

Deep Ocean Challenge

This week for at Deep Ocean Challenge the theme is Christmas and they asked me to be a guest for them so I did up another shaker card with Flower Soft for the inside!!  Doesn't it look like amazing snow?!!

If you click on the picture to enlarge it the glitter on her hat and heart look really cool!!

Not only did I make a shaker card but I made a "book card"!!  This was such a fun project!!  AND I will post the tutorial for you soon!!   I used my Pearl Pen for the snow on the tree and fence.  Something a little different and not quite the effect I was hoping for but very shiny!!!

AND TA-DA!!  The inside!!!  I put LINDT chocolates in the box and just added a piece of acetate over the top so they didn't fall out.  You can very easily pull it out to eat the yummies!!

A closer view of the inside tag.

If you would like to join them this week please see the other inspirational projects at Deep Ocean Challenge blog.  So very talented ladies on this team!  Thanks for inviting me to be a part of this challenge!

This is being entered in the following challenges:

Enjoy your week and happy creating!!

TPS Winter Collection Preview

Tickled Pink is introducing the new Winter Collection line, which will be available only in DIGI!  So far Little Evie and Ivy have been previewed so if you'd like to see those ones head on over to TPS blog and check them out.

Today I'm showing you Fairy Nadine.  I think this is my first fairy and my favorite part of it was doing her wings.  You can make them look so pretty with glitter!!

Although...OMG!!  I had her colored, which took me forever for some reason, then I decided to add color around her and when that didn't work I cut her out.  5 FREAKIN HOURS!!  WTH?!!  UGH!!  Anyway, I paired her up with the gorgeous Bo Bunny "Snowfall" papers and that incredible wooden star from Kaiser Craft.  I also stickled her wings but if you'd like a closer look just click on the picture.

If you do get a chance to head over to the TPS blog, leave a comment and be entered to win the whole winter set!!  These digi's go on sale on Nov. 18th (17th in US & Canada) and if you're quick you could get in on the monthly digi sale!!

I'm entering her into the following challenges:

Christmas Challenges - sketch (I did move the sentiment so it may not count but I wanted to give them the credit for the sketch)

Digital Tuesday Challenge - Christmas Time

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Stamps:  Tickled Pink "Fairy Nadine"
Paper:  Bo Bunny "Snowfall"
Embellishments:  Wild Orchid Flowers and silver corner piece, KaiserCraft Wooden star, glitter and cheesecloth.

CLP #42

We're back again!!  How are you making out with those Christmas cards?  Me?  I still need another 17 I think.  It's looking like I'm finally going to break down and start making multiples.  I know I should do that in the first place but I just love originality.

Anyway for my CLP sketch this month I've used an LOTV image called "Christmas Bears Sledge".  I just think these things are so stinkin' cute!!

Yet another wonderful sketch by Chelsea!!

I did a little more with this card then I usually do.  I scored the card in the middle to give it a bit of space between front and back cover.  I think only 1/4".  Of course now I regret not doing a tutorial.  Anyway, then I cut a 2nd piece to make a place to put single portions of COFFEE!!  I put very small amounts of glue dots on the top AND bottom so they will stay but are easily removed by tugging slightly.

The inside says;
"There's nothing like a cup
of warm hugs on a cold day
from a loving friend"

A closer view of the packettes.

Don't you need a sketch, especially for a Chrismas card?  This is our last sketch of the year and In2Stamps is hosting this month's challenge.  You could win a 10,00 euro gift voucher for the store and WOW there is some sweet stuff there!

So if you need some inspiration please check out the CLP blog and find out what the ladies have been up to.

Enjoy your week!!

MDUC #122

"So Sentimental"

Ok so how shocked and disappointed was I when I found out what the challenge was for Magnolia Down Under this week!!  Make your sentiment the focal point of the card.  WELL, as some of my friends know, sentiments are NOT my strong point BUT when you have an image that's half it's usual size made for holding a sign then PERFECT!!

I went with a non-traditional color as the new Magnolia papers very much inspired me.  They are just gorgeous!! This is my first coloring after going to the intermediate Copic course.  I learned more about light sources and while I don't quite have that mastered yet I do have a better idea about it.  Now practice!!

If you zoom into the picture you can see that I've Stickled a lot of the layers with Stardust.  Love the sparklies!!

So I hope you'll get a chance to join us this week in MDUC's challenge.  The ladies have done a fabulous job once again if you need inspiration.

I'm going to enter my card into these challenges:

Cards und More - Sketch**

Totally Tilda Challenge - Non-traditional Christmas colors (Won top 3)

Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Christmas & use a Magnolia (Won top 3)

Jellypark Challenges - Non-traditional Christmas colors**

MDUC #116

Color Challenge: PINK, WHITE & GOLD

First of all HAPPY WORLD CARD MAKING DAY!!  Woo hoo!!  Happy to report it took me 6 hours to make this card!!  YIKES!  LOL!  Well not happy to report it took 6 hrs but am happy I am spending time in my craft room.  And I'm not even done yet!  Love it when hubby leaves for the day.  hee hee

So this week at MDUC we have this amazing challenge which I thought I would turn into a Christmas card.  Well pretty much everything I am creating is being made to serve a dual purpose.  hee hee!  So today I paired up Snowman with Star with this snowflake circle frame that I can't find now but I did buy both from Magnolia-licious.  It did make my card image bigger but I just love how it turned out.  And it was a total fluke that I nailed the masking of the two images on the first shot!

I distressed all layers with gold, added a gold doily, some cheesecloth, a few doohickey swirls, ribbon & lace and the "Snow Flurries" Tim Holtz snowflake border punch using chipboard.  I even distressed that with gold and added crackle.  Looks cool IRL.  Also added glitter for the snow under the snowman and flower soft to her hat.

You should SEE all the ladies creations!  HOLI CRAP did they all do amazing!  So if you need some inspiration please visit the Magnolia Down Under Challenge blog and be ready to have your socks blown off --- I still need to find mine.

Ok so today's challenges I'm entering are:

Simply Create - Something 6 mos or older....my images are a few seasons old but I just LUV them!

The ABC Challenge - Anything Goes - YAY!

Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Distressed another one of my fav's!!

Well enjoy your day making cards and blog hopping.  Seems to be a very busy weekend for all that.  I'm off to work on something more now!

MDUC #114

INSPIRATION PHOTO

Well here we are again for another MDUC challenge and I almost freakin forgot to post it!  Had my card done early in the week, took pictures but just forgot to write the post.  HOLI COW REALLY?!!  Remembered an hour before - and I really wonder how.  AND I was making a card!!  ha ha ha!!  Phew occupied or what?!  I am soooo laughing at myself right now!

SO this week at MDUC we were asked to use this photo for inspiration, which is so pretty.  Immediately my mind went to Kaisercrafts "Chanteuse Collection" filled with greens, pinks and browns.

I wanted to do more then just a card and who wouldn't want a gift on their birthday anyway?  So I made this cute little box filled with Hershey Kisses.  It's made so you can fit Dove chocolates inside but I went to 3 different stores and couldn't find any!!  Pout pout!  I found this tutorial done by Katie from Clearly iStamp and instead of using the biggest nesties, I used my Silhouette.  Way easier for me!!

Instead of using a button as Katie had in the tutorial, I made a handle instead.  The sentiment is from Magnolia and the butterfly is a Maya Road chipboard butterfly that I distressed in green ink and then added Crackle Accents.

I wanted to try something a little different and went with the center step card (tutorial here) but  just added an inch to make it wider.  I had fun with this one!!

Ok so since I'm a little behind today I won't be adding any details but please don't hesitate to ask if you'd like some information.

Today I'm going to enter my card into the following:
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Card Makin' Mama's - Let's Get Punchy
Addicted to Stamps - Anything But a Card - my chocolate box
Top Tip Tuesday - Birthday Time
Enjoy your weekend all!!  Hugs!
