Heartfelt Thanks

I don't make sympathy cards often (thank goodness) but when the occasion calls for it I usually reach for my Heartfelt Thanks Stampin' Up set. I used Patty's card you can see here, as inspiration. Thanks for the help Patty!

Sketch Saturday #53 & HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

It's Sketch Saturday's 1st birthday so since they are my favorite sketch challenge blog I knew I had to join. Here's my entry:
I used the cloud technique from Three Clovers Designs and it was pretty easy too I might add. I was so happy when it turned out the first time I tried it because I colored my image first. DUH! The DP papers are the Audrey line from Lyndsay Johnson and Connery from We R Memory Keepers. I hope I got that right. I used Prima Flowers and felt flowers from SU. The border punch is from Martha Stewart & misc gems. I can't remember where the felt swirls are from because I have a habit of throwing away the packaging after I've used something for the first time. The sentiment sticker is from Cloud9 Design.
Here is a close up and it's funny when you take pictures using different settings what you see. The above was taken in a light area with no flash and this pic was with a flash. You can see my paper has a shimmer to it but I have forgotten what this paper is too cuz I only bought about 5 sheets!!!

Sketch Saturday

This weekend I tried PURPLE for the Sketch Saturday challenge. I find this color so hard to use but my sister gave me some great bg paper to try and boy did that help! Of course I have no idea what it's called. LOL! The flowers are Prima, I colored with Copics, the heart charge is something I bought 4 yrs ago, and the leaves are Quickutz cookie cutter dies. Enjoy!!

Skull Birthday & Challenge

This is for my stepson's birthday and for the Papertake Weekly Challenge sketch. The skull stamp and saying is from Stampin UP and the paper is from the Rockstar Stack. I covered the hearts on the skull stamp (that were the eyes) with chipboard stars since it's for a boy then put Crackle overtop. It was a good change of pace for me!! :)

Mother's Day Magnolia

Although I posted this on the SCS group about 3 weeks ago, this is another I can finally post on my blog. I made it for my mom for mother's day but her and my stepdad have been away so they both got their cards today. I had loaded it to SCS for the Just Magnolia challenge which was a sketch. Boy you have to find ways to be sneaky when your family subscribes to your blog. LROL!!

Bear Hugs - RAAAAH

I made this bday card for my stepdad a few weeks ago and can finally post it now. Not that HE is a subscriber to my blog but I wanted it to be a surprise for my mom to see too. This set is Bear Hugs from Cornish Heritage Farms. CUTE OR WHAT?!!! I used my Copics to color the bear and Spica Copics for the fire....see it sparkle a bit?? And I was giggling while I was putting Liquide Applique on then the brown ink on the marshmallow so it looked perfectly yummy!! hee hee The little paper clips are from Tim Holtz and they are soooo handy for any man's card. The inside says "You can run but you can't hide from bear hugs" which I showed by having his footprints run into the tent. aaaa ha ha ha!! It was fun!

Tilda With Ladybug

Ok so I have 3 challenges all bottled up into this one!! I can't even believe I did this!! hee hee. The first challenge is at Just Magnolia "Let's Get in Shape" challenge that had to be a shape of any kind, just not square. I used my Nesties called Curved Rectangles. For the 2nd challenge, you had to pick black, white and 1 more color so I chose red. (Ok, I guess I chose grey as well tho) and this challenge came from Three Clovers Designs. The 3rd challenge was the sketch from Friday Sketchers and what a great blog they have!! The shape is a bit hard to see on this one but I already gave it to my sister so I can't take another pic. The HELLO label was cut using the "Label" RS-0947 from QuicKutz. KA--UTE!! I just bought it yesterday so I had to try it out! I did color with Copics but I needed to take a better pic. I cut out Tilda and 3-d her. I'd write more but I have boring chores to do so I have to go but this will keep you tied over until I finish more creations. Yipppeeeeee!!

Riley

Ok, so I had to make a quick post cuz I'm sneaking it in right now. My husband thinks I'm packing for our camping trip! hee hee A few of my friends noticed I haven't posted for a number of weeks. They are going through withdrawals (so am I), which I must say is the ultimate compliment for moi. So this post goes out to Cheri & Chris. Thanks for missing my stuff!
Coincidentally, I really NEEDED to make a card this morning so I took the Sketch Saturday sketch and inked up one of my old Riley stamps. He looked so lonely but now ALLLLLL my stamps are screaming at me to be used. LOL!! Although you can't see it, I did 3d Riley and his cozy chair. Hope this holds you over until next weekend! I will have LOTS for you then. :)
